Fine Art Templates

1. board: Olympus E-300, f/5.6, 1/200, Dubois, Idaho, 3/3/10, 9:50 a.m.
2. town: Olympus E-300, f/5.3, 1/400,Bannack, Montana, 3/3/10, 3:40 p.m.

I took both of these photos on the Bannack trip. I really like the simplicity of the white background so the attention is focused on the picture and the text. I followed the tutorial to add my name stamp to the template. I don't like my signature, but it works.

HDR Edit

For the High Dynamic Range edit, I took three photos at -2.0, 0.0, and +2.0. After opening them in the HDR program, I aligned them on top of one another. For the tone mapping, I changed the method to ultra-contrast (my favorite) and increased the amount of vivid colors. I also added a soft vignette to darken the edges. I really liked the way this photo turned out!
1.       -2.0: Olympus E-300, f/11.0, 1/1250, Bannack, Montana, 1:15 p.m., 3/3/10
2.       0.0: Olympus E-300, f/11.0, 1/320, Bannack, Montana, 1:15 p.m., 3/3/10
3.       +2.0: Olympus E-300, f/8.0, 1/160, Bannack, Montana, 1:15 p.m., 3/3/10

For the High Dynamic Range single photo edit, I really wanted to bring out the blue in the otherwise dull boards. Once again, I used the ultra-contrast method and increased the amount of vivid colors.
1.       blue boards: Olympus E-300, f/5.6, 1/250, DuBois, Idaho, 9:55 a.m., 3/3/10

Best of Bannack

I decided to post nine different pictures. I couldn’t decide which ones to choose from! I got so many great shots!
So it turns out I’m obsessed with HDR. I bought the program, so I figured I would use it on my Bannack photos. The only photos I didn’t process in HDR: ghost, portrait, and curtains. On these images, I changed the levels, increased the contrast, and added a little saturation.
1.       ghost: Olympus E-300, f/22.0, 6.0, DuBois, Idaho, 10:05 a.m., 3/3/10

Scanography Edit

I scanned a lollipop, tissue paper, a shoe, and a Valentine's Day card. When the lollipop and shoe were scanned, they came out really fuzzy. Maybe because they have dimension, or maybe I need to learn how to use a scanner. I used a clipping mask to remove the white space around the images.
lollipop- 3/2/10, Rexburg, Idaho, 10:40 p.m.
tissue paper- 3/2/10, Rexburg, Idaho, 10:42 p.m.
shoe- 3/2/10, Rexburg, Idaho, 10:46 p.m.
Valentine's Day Card, 3/2/10, Rexburg, Idaho, 10:53 p.m.

Scanography

I placed various items on a scanner and took a "picture" with the scanner. The cover wouldn't close, so I had to keep the scanner open.

Edge Effects Edit

For the London Bridge photo, I used the sprayed edge effect. For the SLC Temple photo, I used the brushed-on effect. I thought the brown edge looked beautiful on both photos.

Night and Light

I took the first two pictures in my apartment last night. The other two were taken before the assignment. I really wanted to show beautiful light outside.

Panaromic Photomerge Edit

I took five photos in Nature Park and used the photomerge tool to create a panoramic.  After merging the photos, I changed the levels and contrast. I then cropped the image.

Photo A Day Template

I created my own template. I downloaded a background from cgtexture.com. I created transparent borders around each picture. Then I placed each picture on the layer of the frame. I then sized the picture and created a clipping mask.

Replace Color and Photo Enhancements

I tried out replace color and photo enhancements on two separate photos. For the replace color, I changed the blues to turquoise. I changed the fuzziness to 130 so the blue couldn't show through. For the photo enhancements, I removed acne using the spot healing brush and I whitened teeth using the dodge tool. She also had red eye, so I used the red eye tool to get rid of it.

For these photos, I cropped them and added a warm filter. Other than that, they're untouched.
